New Product Review: Low-Calorie Skinny Grape Wine Spritzers

It’s not quite patio weather yet here in Ontario, but that didn’t stop me from getting out on the deck to enjoy and review these new low-calorie wine spritzers made by Skinny Grape. Lucky for me, I had an outdoor fireplace to keep things cozy.

Here's the Skinny...

Skinny Grape already has a line of low calorie wines, and now they have a line of refreshing wine spritzers in three different flavours: Strawberry Pineapple, Blueberry Pomegranate, and Key Lime Lemonade. They come in a pack of four 330ml bottles, with one flavour per pack. Unfortunately the flavours can’t be mixed and matched.

Each bottle contains 90 calories, 0 grams of carbohydrates, and 0 grams of fat. I was amazed that these have no sugar in them! They are sweetened with Stevia (a natural sugar substitute) and are also naturally flavoured. Skinny Grape Spritzers are made with fortified wine and contain 4% alcohol, which is about the same as other spritzers and coolers.

Skinny Grape Low Calorie Wine Spritzers in three flavours

Strawberry Pineapple tasted the sweetest out of the three, but still wasn’t overly sweet. Blueberry Pomegranate was my favourite of the three, since I love these flavours together. This one was in the middle in terms of sweetness. Key Lime Lemonade was the least sweet of the three, and has a crisp tartness. It was yummy but made me pucker up! I wouldn’t be able to have too many of this one.

Overall, I enjoyed all of the new Skinny Grape Spritzers. They’re light and refreshing, making them perfect for sipping on the patio this summer. They’re not too sweet so you won’t feel sick after drinking a few (which tends to happen with certain coolers). I love that these are sugar-free and only 90 calories…meaning you could down a whole pack and still only consume 360 calories (that’s less than one fancy drink at some bars!). They do have a bit of a wine taste to them, so it depends if you’re into that or not.

Next time I would pour them into a glass and add a few ice cubes, or even pour a bunch into a pitcher with some ice and fruit slices. These will be released on Monday May 5th at The Wine Shop in Ontario, just in time for Cinco de Mayo. Each four-pack will be $9.95. Cheers!

  2. I tried for the first time, blueberry / Pom...it was horrible. Worst after taste of Stevia and that is about all. Would not recommend at all.

    1. Hi RMK, some people can taste the stevia in these (it's less noticeable in the key lime lemonade actually), but I still think it's better than artificial sweeteners!

  3. This sounds great and perfect for the person who practiced healthy lifestyle like me. One thing I know to preserve its taste and prevent the oxidation process which causes deterioration is to keep it cool on wine chillers.

    1. Hi Shanny, I don't think so. They are available in Ontario at The Wine Shop and LCBO or NSLC in Nova Scotia.
